Apply to Join our Advisory Board

You are invited to apply for membership on the Boys and Schools Board of Advisors. Membership on the Board of Advisors is limited to educators, teaching professionals, school administrators, health professionals, authors, professionals who work with children, and key thought leaders who share our goals and have distinguished themselves in one of the focus areas of Boys and Schools.

Boys and Schools is an educational program that is dedicated to improving the lives and futures of boys. Our outreach efforts focus on raising public awareness regarding issues related to boys' health and achievement. We offer tools and resources that can help make a positive change in boys' lives. The Boys and Schools program is a project of the Men's Health Network, a 501c(3) non-profit educational organization committed to improving the health and well-being of men and boys.

The Boys and Schools program is dedicated to achieving the following goals:

  1. Educating the public and raising awareness of boys' academic troubles
  2. More research on and greater public awareness of boys' developmental needs and learning styles
  3. Early intervention as a means to develop literacy skills and a positive attitude about school
  4. Mentoring, and greater parental and community involvement
  5. More flexibility for educators in trying different techniques to reach boys
  6. Better efforts to meet the physical and mental health needs of boys
  7. Educating policy makers about the need for specialized programs to boost boys' educational outcomes
  8. Promoting the creation of specialized programs aimed at improving boys' academic performance.
  9. Creating a culture of support for boys
